Our membership dues contribute to maintaining our beautiful lake by testing the lake water quality, monitoring the lake for invasive species, funding events sponsored by the lake association, and funding other projects relating to our mission.

Water quality testing 

• Lake and stream water quality testing occurs throughout the year by our volunteers in conjunction with the UNH Lake Lays monitoring program.
• Your funds help support sample analysis and equipment purchases and maintenance.

Invasive Species Monitoring and Prevention

• Our members monitor the lake for invasive plant and animal species and we regularly contract professional aquatic plant surveys.
• Your funds support these initiatives and also contribute to a reserve fund for invasive species mitigation and related projects.

Members only eMail list

• Receive member-only eMails about SLA events, water quality testing, invasive species, dam/water level updates, issues important to New Hampshire lakes, and more.

• Receive electronic versions of the SLA Newsletters

Lake Association Events

• Our annual meeting takes place during the summer and all members are encouraged to attend and guests are welcome. See presentations pertinent to the lake’s water quality, invasive species, and lake living.
• Other events vary per year, but have included boat parades, daytime and moonlight paddles, fire pit parties, and cookouts.

There are 4 levels of membership that support the SLA in its mission:

• SLA Supporter – This level sustains the basic operation of the Sunset Lake Association including support of our water quality testing program. This SLA Supporter membership level is available annually for $25 or as a lifetime, non-transferable membership for a one time payment of $250. 

You can optionally upgrade your annual or lifetime membership for the current calendar year to one of the following levels:

• Loon Lover (+$10 annually): Your additional contribution helps support an SLA donation to Loon Preservation Committee and will help to preserve loons and their habitat in New Hampshire. 
• Weed Watcher (+$25 annually): Your additional contribution helps fund our Weed Watcher aquatic species monitoring. 
• Lake Leader (+$75 annually): This is our premier level, supporting all of our efforts including water quality testing, the Loon Preservation Committee, our Weed Watchers aquatic species monitoring program, and the SLA support of and membership in NH Lakes. 

You can optionally choose to be recognized for your membership level in a annual members listing which will be posted on our website and in our newsletter.

Whatever membership level you choose we appreciate your support of our organization and our mission.

There are 3 ways to join with an annual or initial lifetime membership:

If you are already a lifetime member, there are 3 ways to make an annual contribution to "upgrade" your membership level for the current year:
